TVL | TheVerticaLine was born in Italy, in the heart of Salento, and brings with it a manufacturing tradition that isn't simply passed down: it's reinterpreted, day after day.
Each sneaker is crafted in a laboratory where shoemaking art meets innovation, and where time is not a variable to be compressed, but a resource to be respected.
A human process, before a productive one
We don't mass-produce.
Each TVL sneaker takes shape only after you place your order. Before that, it doesn't exist: it's an idea in waiting, a project on hold that only becomes real when someone chooses it.
This approach allows us to produce only what we need, avoiding waste and overproduction, and to maintain an ethical, responsible, and sustainable model.
Here the rhythm is human, not industrial.
The hands behind every model
Behind each model is a close-knit team of four young artisans and a master hemmer. Women and men work together following a precise process, made up of carefully and meticulously repeated gestures, where every step has meaning and nothing is superfluous.
The journey begins with Mario .
Before him, the selected materials rest like canvases waiting to be painted. His hands, guided by years of experience, guide the laser machine that cuts the leather with precision. Every curve, every detail, is born from his attentive eye. It is here that the first spark of the sneaker is ignited.
The story then moves on to Elvira , the master hemmer.
Her sewing machines follow a steady, almost organic rhythm. She joins the cut pieces, giving the upper its first breath. Elvira doesn't just sew: she guides the material towards its identity, transforming it into something that can be worn, experienced, and brought out into the world. It's at this stage that the sneaker truly begins to breathe.
When the upper is ready, it arrives in Rocco 's hands.
He assembles the sneaker, shaping it, giving it structure, posture, and balance. The sole and upper meet, are joined, secured, and prepared to support the wearer's every step.
Then Mario returns for a decisive gesture: the final stitching.
The one that definitively connects the sole and upper. It's not a simple finish, but the gesture that marks the birth of the sneaker. A final point that resembles a beginning.
The final act returns to Rocco, who inserts the laces, adjusts the tissue paper to maintain its shape, and closes the circle. The sneaker is ready to go.
The value of time
It takes 12 days to complete a TVL sneaker.
Twelve days for every detail to be checked, refined, and respected. Twelve days because we believe that quality comes not from speed, but from attention.
Here time is not an obstacle: it is part of the value.
From the laboratory to the wearer
From here the journey continues to Bergamo, where quality control and logistics welcome it, observe it and prepare it for its debut in the world.
And then it goes, straight to whoever will wear it.
The TVL sneaker isn’t truly complete until it meets its keeper because the TVL isn’t meant to sit still.
